Hi Bill,
For collimation, these binoculars do not use eccentric rings, but they don't use the typical undersized prism tilt screws either. Cory tore down a pair of the 15x70's several weeks ago, and for collimation these use a heavy-duty tilt-plate arrangement, where the prisms are mounted to a large, spring-loaded plate that is adjusted via three screws. Two of the screws are accessible from the outside of the prism housing -- it sounds like you've already spotted those (the slotted ones with rubber plugs); however, in order to access them, you really should remove the diopter rings to avoid tearing the rubber covering over the prism housing, though it sounds like you've managed to get around this. In order to access the third screw, you have to open up the binoculars, which I certainly do not recommend doing unless you have a lot of experience with this sort of thing. The good news is that, once properly collimated, you should never have to worry about adjusting collimation, unless you expose them to the same type of severe impacts they sometimes receive on their journey across the Pacific. We had to collimate a significant percentage of the last shipment for this reason.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
