Roy -

Sorry for the delay in posting pics and answering your questions....I've had a full-plate lately (what's new huh?!) ...

The diameter of the foot is just shy of 1 and 1/4 (1.25) inches. (short by a mm or two)

With the post positioned 1.5 inches from the front of binocular, there is approximately .5 inches of clearance between the objective tubes and the mounting foot. Actually, it's a bit short of .5 by a mm or two. I apologize for the rough measurements, all I have handy is a standard ruler. I can make some more precise measurements after I get back from work if you need me to, I don't mind.

(also, the clearance between foot and tube that I stated is for my IPD)

FWIW, I can't get the binocular to mount if I position the post that close to the front. I position my post about 2"-2.5" from the front of the binocular. This balances the bino perfectly on the cradle and leaves a tiny space >< between the tube and the cradle. Any closer to the front and the objective tube interferes with the cradle.

Re: the pic you posted above -

That's looks very familiar except for the red paint. I used mine last night for a quick sweep around Sagittarius before the clouds and moon combined to chase me back inside. I love that mount, it's by far the best piece of astrogear I have acquired.

Clear dark skies...
