(WARNING: a non-scientific report, contains adjectives) Hi All! I received my Garrett 20x80 LW Gemini binoculars Saturday(after a delay by UPS).These were shipped promptly and were packed exceedingly well with lots of peanut foam. Inside the shipping box,was a shiny black storage box with the Garrett logo and inside that was a very nice large soft black leather bag with shoulder strap and zippered pockets, again with the Garrett logo in gold. Opening the velcro flap on the bag I pulled out a stiff, folding and cloth covered encasement board that, when unfolded, had two velcro straps holding the binoculars in place. The objective lens caps fit snuggly while the single piece ocular cover is a bit loose and has a tendancy to fall off (heck, the EP cap on my TV 24mm Panoptic doesn't fit snug either!). While admittingly I've never even seen a pair of Zeiss or Swarovski's and own only a pair of small Bushnell's, I am not going to pretend that I could give a detailed product review nor will I attempt any kind of scientific observing report splitting doubles with arc second resolution measurements(I've just recently "discovered" M27!) but I've got to say these do seem very well built,as nothing seems loose or misfitted as it has a good, solid feel. The lens' have an even and deep green coating and the glass looks well...brand new. Of course, since receiving I've had the rain curse, so I've been unable to view through them at night, though I have been able to glass through them during daylight. I don't wear glasses and I haven't experienced any interpupillary or eye relief discomfort. They weigh 4lbs.,9.5oz. and have them mounted on my wifes lightweight Velbon 7000 camera tripod and realize that I will need a more substantial mount in the future. To give an idea of the resolution, from my front porch at 200 to 250 yards I'm able to resolve the vivid chrome green and striping of a turkey's wing feathers along with noticing the ticks covering a poor deers ears(this on misty and rainy days)! I have no doubt about what the "WOW" factor is going to be when viewing the Milky Way. So for this binocular tenderfoot, I think its without a doubt probably the best $179.95(shipping included) I have ever spent. Thanks everyone for their input, I'm elated. Phil
