I agree, EdZ's index is more thorough and would certainly offer a better comparison between binoculars of different optical quality. The only concern i have is the practical application of EdZ's index by a novice (such as me).
I can quickly and fairly easily relate to both the Bishop Visibility Index and the Adler Index but would personally find it difficult to factor in such things as baffles, aberrations, contrast, light transmission etc. as required by EdZ's index. The deficiency here is in me, not the index.
