Interesting, so the image restricted by the daylight eye pupil could have a larger proportion that is fully illuminated by the larger 10x56 than in the 10x50. As light levels increase and the pupil shrinks, the effective aperture of both reaches a level where they both produce an image that's fully illuminated. Sounds like the most plausible explaination for what I see. I wonder how the two different types of prisms in the leica and the zeiss vary in the way they illuminate the exit pupil.
