Hi all, this has been debated on the SXV-OSC group and to quoute Terry (hope he dont mind): "It is the 453. The 413 was used in the very first cameras, but we changed to the 453 to get the progressive readout feature. It was never updated on the web site, as it didn't seem to be an important fact at the time - the chip is essentially the same apart from the readout registers. Regards, Terry"
There is no way for us, the consumer, to know how many cameras are out there with the "old" chip, if any. So, if you are in the marked for a used M25C you may not get one with the latest chip.
