Hey Wade,
really nice article!
I think it's a good thing to encourage people to sketch at the eyepiece, after all it's a way of recording your observations that has a lot of tradition. And as has been mentioned often enough, the sketches don't have to be works of art (even though many here can be considered just that!).
And after all, it's always a cool thing to know that people are spending thousands of Dollars in photography equipment, whereas I just go and invest ten Bucks in a few sheets of paper and some pencils!:)
