I guess I am a little too late for the December Challenge...
This was definitely an image of desperation. After a month and a half of barely any opportunities to image, I finally saw the potential for a few hours of clearish skies late Friday evening. I started imaging when there was scattered to broken thin cirrus (~0/8 to 1/8 opacity) and then 3 hours later it clouded over again. I stacked all my frames... even the poor ones, so that is probably one of the reasons why the image looks a bit soft and Alnitak is so blinding. Anyway I was just really happy to get out and use my equipment again and process something new for a change.
