Hello all, I'm a newbie who has just received his first purchase.... *Orion Resolux 15*70mm *Orion Paragon-P mount + tripod
Love the bino's and the tripod seems nice and solid but I've got a PROBLEM with my MOUNT!!!!
Pic 1 shows how the mount adaptor fits snugly to a friends' 7*50 Bino's.....
Pic 2 shows how the adaptor is WAAAY to big for my Resolux's and are digging into the rubber frame. As well, because they cannot screw in fully they are not tight, but quite loose!!
Pic's 3/4/5...show me attaching the adaptor that was supplied with the bino's.They are a perfect fit,BUT the altitude range of movement is rendered as good as useless so it's not practical.Sorry folks, maybe I'm missing something here and not attaching it correctly, but I can't see how this adaptor can be attached differently The pic showing the close-up underside view of the bino adaptor attached to the L-bracket...gives an indication, I think, of how the Bino adaptor needs to be fitted in the location where the 2 allen screws are!!!!
Pic. 6 shows me taking the L-bracket off!!
Pic 7 shows how it would be GREAT if the other adaptor could be attached(because it's the one I need)!!
Pic 8 shows my dilemma in thinking of attaching this adaptor
I'm HOPING somebody out there has bought this model Mount/Tripod with 15*70 Bino's and has an answer to my problem.Maybe I just need to seek out a "Handyman" who's got the tools+skills to attach the good adaptor to my Mount, in some way
Sorry folks if some feedback here tells me I should have done more substantive research BEFORE purchasing...... I made the mistake thinking that since both bino + mount were from the same manufacturer they would SURELY be compatible...the Orion website said that the mount was compatible with bino's of up to 80mm,but as a newbie I failed to forsee this "connection problem"
I'll finish off now,and apologies if this post has been a bit looooong....it's just that I'm in a bit of a quandry and don't know what to do....
MANY THANKS,
DAVID.........
