Cheers one + all for the feedback I've had a look,Patrick, at the Oberwerk L-Bracket + I may be wrong but it looks uncannily similar to the slimline adapter that is shown in pics.1/4/5 of my post, and if so would not serve my purpose. Indeed, posted again is my first pic, and the crux of my dilemma...as shown..in my left hand is the base of the slimline adapter which is "suitable/correct-fitting" BUT.. on the right is the Mount-Head base with the L-Bracket removed and hence my dilemma of fitting it???
Thanks Wes James for the feedback,as you rightly said the large L-Bracket is too large but I'm in a spot of bother as they say,in trying to figure how to fit the other one on My act of fitting the slimline adapter on top of the L-Bracket was my desperate act of looking at different configurations of solving the problem!!.
Also, thanks Edz,you're clearly familiar then with this potential-shortcoming on the Orion Mount, with a minority of Bino's that are too narrow to fit the wide L-Adapter!!...and the futility of hoping to fit the slimline adapter on for your reasons given!! Point taken about the "Farpoint" adapter, quite expensive,BUT it has 2 insert screws from top-down/same-type configuration....ONLY thing I have to find out/be careful of...IS THE SPREAD THE SAME??..as you rightly point out.Probably a "heads-up" to Patrick, as well about this,as he is thinking of getting it also
Yeah,Edwinh, had a look at your P-mount connector and I'm a little bit confused (forgive me,I'm a newbie)..I think this adapter may only be suitable for different centre-mount bino's and not mine??..sorry here folks as I'm on a steep learning curve, with this being my first ever purchase'n all ************************************************************
As I see it,I have 2 options at the moment,as it stands!!!!!
*1*-Do/order, some major DIY work involving the making of a new L-Bracket or Mount head.
*2*-Get one of these "Farpoint" adapters, but only if the "spread is the same" for the 2 screw openings.
If anyone else has any ideas from looking at this picture then "Go ahead punk, make my day !!!!" I'm quickly learning that this Astronomy game can get a little bit complex and not all is what it seems....but have to say I'm delighted with my Bino's,tripod seems solid + if I can just get over this small hurdle with the mount connection I'll be sooo happy!!!
THANKS EVERYONE,
DAVID.....
