Yea, the "washer" is not attached to the bracket directly, but the screw that goes into the bino's is threaded through the "washer" hole. The nice thing about the one from my Nikon adapter is that it has a rubber side that makes for a snug fit against the metal on the bino's and its center hole is threaded to fit match the screw. If you got one from the hardware store it would have to have a big enough hole to fit over the threads. Anyway, just an idea for ya...
