In our club observatory, we had several cables in general disarray, and the warm room which has the computer etc required cables from the scope to the p.c. Unfortunately, we have put the door in the worst possible place and the cables were an invitation for tripping. I made up a double tapered piece of 2x4 with a dado on the flat side. Put the wood on top of the cables and screwed it to the floor. I suppose it might be a little difficult to do that on the grass!

Sounds like a great setup.

A solution to this would be to do as my wife suggests, and move to somewhere with a bit of land, and build a permanent observatory, but that's not quite in the cards yet.
