The universe is a big and mostly empty place. It is fitting that loving it is a lonesome deal. The amateur astronomers I know all do images with go-to SCTs, nothing wrong with that, but I am more into a sensory thing. I have never heard "Nu Draconis" pronounced out loud. I have never met a human being who gave a flip about double stars, or cared a hoot about binoculars. That is why I love CN and Astromart too. This web technology connects a few like minded souls, as weird and distant apart as we may be.
I recently visited 30deg N, and saw nighthawks. Here, at 36deg in New Mexico, I am still waiting.
