Sounds like you may have done the same thing I did on my first First Contact cleaning...didn't hold the spray bottle close enough to the surface!
This solution begins to dry immediately upon contact with air. If you hold the spray bottle more than 2-3 inches from the corrector, some of the solution is partially drying before it hits the surface...resulting in ineffective adhesion to the glass.
The GOOD news is that small splotches of it will wash right off with a little distilled water and surgical cotton. It seems to be water-soluble.
