The competition in this space was ripe for more activity, particularly now that imaging chips are getting relatively commodotized or at least the process to manufacture them is.
For me, I currently have:
1. Meade DSI II color - my guider - won't change that - it works well 2. Meade DSI III color - a fairly good imager for the USA NW skies - no reason to change that 3. SBIG ST-2000XCM - better pixel size over the DSI III and my images show it - I've already invested in it and no reason to dump it 4. Canon EOS 5D - wider field imaging - the Orion is tempting, but for me, I'm imaging objects that are 5 to 30' in angular diameter so the Meade and SBIG got me covered.
