What I'm finding is that here in the moisture-laiden, light polluted Seattle-Bellevue, WA, USA skies is that the Meade DSI III color produces great images from my SCT 9.25" 2350mm FL and my WO 110mm ~770mm FL scopes. But, I've found that the SBIG ST-2000XCM is producing less noise in my images, even if the pixel size is 7.4 X 7.4 microns for the SBIG [vs 6.5 microns x 6.45 microns for the Meade). So, again, for me, I like the Meade DSI III for a quick setup, less configuration night, but the SBIG results in images that have less bloom and noise.
I'm eager to see lots of images from the Orion and whatever equipment we all decide to use, the ultimate goal is to pursue an enjoyable hobby and take advantage of new products, new technologies and new prices as and when we each are able or see fit to.
I want to thank all the equipment manufacturers for their passion and ingenuity.
