More than a decade ago I peeped through a 12.5" reverse bino (twin Dobsonians) built by a friend in his home workshop. The view was correctly oriented, i.e., not mirror-reversed. In a word... Wow! The aperture really does make a difference, even on bright stuff such as the Moon.

A minor inconvenience... pointing the thing, where you had to shuttle around to the back and aim. Of course, this could be rectified by an over-the-shoulder low power finder (I devised an initial design for one.)

The big disadvantage... lugging the monstrosity around!

Home-made 11X50 right angle bino, 8.1 deg. FOV
Modified 26X100 bino, 3.5 deg. FOV

Mediocre minds discuss people. Good minds discuss events. Great minds discuss ideas.
