I live in a fairly old subdivision. Most of the homes here were built in 1970's. We have overhead wiring and the cheapest light fixtures you gan get. They don't shine up but man, do they have a large horizontal area! The only good thing is the bulb is LPS. Years ago I asked the city to replace the poles with underground wiring and cobra fixtures and they said I was completly crazy!
