Actually it was MY choice, I think I would have been uncomfortable with someone else's high dollar binocular in my possession.

First, because I would not want to return it anytime soon.
Second, I would never be satisfied with a lesser version of anything ever again.
Third, I don't think I would have the courage to ask for it.
