Only on perhaps two occasions in my life did I see anything more than the usual scintillation (twinkling) in even a fairly large bino (unless looking very close to the horizon on so-so nights). So I would discount that as a reason to relax the mirror tolerances. -------------------- Home-made 11X50 right angle bino, 8.1 deg. FOV Modified 26X100 bino, 3.5 deg.
