If I recall correctly, Eric Bloom (the guy who sings) hated performing this song live. Metallica covered this song a few years back as well..
For a long time I have suspected someone in B.O.C knew more about astronomy than the average person (an amateur, perhaps?). Check out "Workshop of the Telescopes",too if you can track it down...
Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine" is another good choice; it's less ambiguous than B.O.C's offering and is REALLY about astronomy...
