Sounds to me that it will work OK. Your chip is 8mm, so there should be no vignetting.
One thing to consider is mounting a small refractor scope with an illuminated reticle eyepiece in it, piggybacked on the top of your SCT OTA. With the refractor as a "super finder", collimated with the SCT OTA, you will find it much easier to keep the object centered on the chip.
