I have rough collimated my first pair of binos and I couldn't be happier.

I bought a pair of used 10x50 Minolta StandardII (6.5 degree) last week and they wroked fine when i tried them at the garage sale during the day, but I got double stars when i tried them at home at night.

I just yesterday read the "Best of" piece on the adjustment screws, pried up the rubber covering and found them, did some tests to see how the lenses were off from each other, and tried turning one side one direction about 1/4 of a trun and it got worse. Tried the other direction back my original 1/4 then another 1/8 turn and voila- couldn't belive it- even in day viewing the 3d effect is way better and last night no double stars-

hooray!

I am now going to attempt the same thing on a pair of vintage 10x50 steiners i also picked up at a garage sale.
