I want to make an 8" dob so I can gain expierience to someday grind refractor lenses. The later being often extremely difficult and time consuming, everything I've read says mirrors first. Unfortunately, this is my first mirror and quartz is apparently trickier to grind and figure than pyrex, so pyrex is the way I'm going. I'm probably going to go with a blank from newport glass!
