Thanks for your insights and suggestions, Tom. I agree with the points you've raised.
Since manufacturers are likely to keep producing ED doublets with the correction we're seeing, I wonder if the greater availability of reasonably priced, high quality 1.25" *and* 2" prism diagonals wouldn't be a good avenue for vendors to explore? Right now, there only seems to be one 2" prism diagonal on the market and it's expensive!
We'll see...
