Most of you have already covered my helpful ideas.
-averted vision
-wearing an eyepatch over the non-observing eye
-wear good dark sunglasses during the daytime
-use a little scope-shake
-high magnification
-a good detailed atlas
-keep breathing and don't hold your breath straining to see an object
-keep hydrated
-take breaks to walk around and refresh your body
