Walther Sunset Ray Alert - US
      07/22/08 06:10 PM

The Robinson Lunar Observatory predicts the ray at 0639UT on 25 Jul 2008 but please get out a few hours early if you can (Moon visible)to see the collapse from a wide "V" of light to the narrow ray. Moon Sketchers this is your turn to shine as photos (too much contract) won't capture the subtle lighting of the ray at 0639. Look for the "Cat's Paw" (unofficial name) lighting of the central peak a half hour to an hour ahead of the ray. Those that won't have to stop looking and go to work will see the central peak casting a dim patch of light on the crater floor after 0639UT.

If you visit the Robinson Lunar Observatory site you'll find data for the appearance of other rays.

P.s. Mike Jones made me post this!
