Last night I had trouble sleeping. After tossing and turning I took a trip to the bathroom. While there I looked out the window and saw the Moon was fairly high in the sky. I remembered the Mallincam video camera was still connected to my 12 LX200R, so on the way back I ducked into our spare bedroom, sat down at the PC and fired up the observatory.

Within a few minutes the scope was up and pointed at the Moon. I configured the mount for lunar tracking rate and set the jog step size to 1 minute.

I then just spent some time just wondering around the surface, not looking for anything in particular, just looking around. I jogged the scope from the terminator to the limb, north and south. I soon realized I was sleepy so I pressed the "shutdown" button and crawled back into bed. I saved this image just before the observatory began its shutdown sequence. I enjoyed it so much I plan on removing the .5x reducer so I can get a closer look tonight.
