Mike, Accounting for differences in brightness (and resolution bump) the 8" is much more pleasing. Stars are more substantial, compared to the softer (borrowing Patricks terms) C6. Also the scope cools down a hella faster.
Took the 8" out last night - should have taken the C6 out too for comparison but I was having too much fun - had a great night. Even in my light infested neighborhood I picked off a double handful of Messiers, Jupiter and the moon low on the horizon. My previous experience was last Saturday with the C6 in dark skies and no trees, where I gave up after a half hour of trying to pull it together. I don't know, maybe it's psychological. The C6 being the middle child isn't as interesting as the ones on the end. But, there is a different quality to it that stands out from the others.
