Don, I have the 13E and the 8E as well and use them plus a finder eyepiece almost exclusively. I consider them great eyepieces.
However I have had one surprising experience, comparing the view of Jupiter through a 13E with a Celestron 8SE carefully collimated, versus the view of Jupiter, same time, same place, through the same scope, with a Denk Binoviewer and 10 and 20 MM Tele Vue plossles at a comparable magnification to that given by the 13E. The view was noticeable sharper to may eye and to the eye of the SE owner, with the Denk plus the plossls, than it was with the 13E.
On the other hand the 13E gave a wonderful view of M13 and of M27, through the SE.
