Well Uncle Rod, I received my new hand controller today from OPT and it worked just fine so it looks as though it may HAVE been the ribbon cable that came out. I also received the HC case I ordered from Scope Stuff and it is a well made case that should eliminate any dew problem in the future, if in fact that may have been the problem instead. Great! Again, I wouldn't worry about dew...I think this was probably something the tech-support person just pulled out of his a**. Me and my buddies use NexStar HCs down here in the swamp on nights when the dew and humidity is so bad that the telescopes are _raining_ without problems. Still, that case might be a good idea on general principles, I reckon.
