This is my 4th of July "weekend project." Writ up extensively on my ATM thread, this is an old (early 60's) Jaegers 6" f/15 lens I've had for about 5 years now.
I had Thursday and Friday off, and my family was mostly out of town, so I started this Thursday morning and "finished" it - to the state you see here - Sunday afternoon.
I have some things to do yet, like painting the inside of the dewshield black, collimating the cell and focuser (I may need to trim the tube a bit on the focuser end, but I can reach focus with the 1 1/4" diagonal and 28mm RKE - only things I've tried).
I was sighting on some skyscraper in downtown LA on this redwood bench "quadropod" (tetrapod?).
Obviously, I still need to make rings and a saddle plate for it, too. Can't wait to point it at the sky, because I saw no detectable color fringes around contrasty parts of that skyscraper!
