Depends on what you want a quick look at, for your neibors wife, Er...uh...sorry, for a quick look "at" most binocular objects, aperture, and magnification rule. If you already have 10X50's you like, then go big! Currently, I like my Fuji 16X70's but have some Burgess 25X100's on order. I like bino's with exit pupils between 4-6mm and apparent fields as wide as possible without introducing excessive coma. I don't mind a little curvature, but dont want stars elongating into crescents at the edge when the center of the field is in focus. I wear glasses, so eye relief of 16mm or more is a nice bonus too. One thing I will reccomend is a Unimount. Even if it costs more than the bino's, I think it's worth every cent. They can be used with any bino's, I've been through several pair since I bought this mount, and it just makes everything nicer to use. I like being able to kick back in a lawn chair, and observe anywhere in the sky without getting up. I like being able to locate an object then step away and let someone else see, even if we're not the same height. But that's just my opinion, worth every cent you paid for it. JDBraddy
