Hi, I have had a C8/ASGT for 5 years almost exclusively with a video camera. It is accurate and reliable and portable. I have used it for many dozens of outreach projects.
I bought an Atlas mount and a 10R about a year ago. After struggling for months with the go-to performance, I discovered that the problem was mirror flop in the OT during alignment. With the mirror locked, it now works very well.
The Atlas is more sturdily built, MUCH quieter, and appears to track more smoothly, making it a better choice for extended exposure photography. It is, however, significantly behind the ASGT in functional convenience, unless you are prepared to run it via EQMOD and a laptop, and much less portable.
If I was planning to use the mount for AP and willing to control it by computer and not planning to travel with the system, I would choose the Atlas.
Both are really nice tools. Both give me hours of go-to's within 5-10 arcmin.
