Does aperture rule in bino land?
I was trying to decide between 15x63 or 20x85 binoculars. I was weighing the mount needs and abilities of each. Then I read some posts on the 15x50 Canon IS model. I have looked through some, liked them, and am now wondering if the viewing stability of the IS would somehow outweigh the larger aperture of the other binos.
I have been using my birding Pentax 8x42’s for a while and wanted more. Since the Canon wouldn’t need a substantial mount, the cost difference is not all that great. I like DSO’s in my scopes and think that that would still be my favorite kind of target.
I have searched and read many reviews of and posts about the Canons but am now particularly interested in comments comparing the IS 15x50 and 18x50 to regular astro binoculars. Thank you.
