Does anyone happen to know the Sb of The Ring Nebula in Lyra? It is the dimmest, non-stellar object I have seen in my backyard and I am curious to know just how dim M57 really is. I have heard it described as one of the brightest objects of it's type due to it's relatively small size, but yet it required excellent seeing, a dark moonless night, and deft averted vision to confirm it. I guess that says quite a lot for my light polluted skies. With 100mm of aperture, I can barely, BARELY, pull this object in.
