Under mag 6 skies, you would probably see more of almost everything with the larger aperture. Under mag 4 skies you would probably wouldn't see any more of anything with a larger aperture at the same magnification, and you would probably lose sight of faint extended objects at your contrast threshold because the background sky would appear so much brighter the image would get washed out. >

I've tried to read through the entire thread ( not really having had the time to do so prior to this evening ) but numerous deleted posts have made the chronology and natural flow of the discussion very difficult to follow .
