Yesterday evening I re-read the introduction to Stephen O'Meara's
"The Messier Objects". On pages 29/30 he explains the exactly
same relation between solar flux and the resulting mag/arcsec^2 in the
night. Truly interesting, and one more thing to consider! Now I
understand this better.
