Orion Announces New Products and Re-Release of Meade LX85 Mount

In a letter to customers, Peter Moreo, president of Orion Telescopes and Binoculars and Meade Instruments, announced additions to the Orion product line along with new plans and products for the Meade brand that Orion purchased in 2021. Under the Orion brand, the company introduced several new telescopes including 14” and 16” truss-tube RC astrographs and the StarShoot 32mm mini guide scope. For their Meade brand, the company announced a re-launch of the popular LX85 EQ mount along with Newtonian and ACF optical tubes. These mounts are designed and manufactured in North America, and Meade plans to re-shore much of their supply chain. Moreo also announced a new Meade website that includes improved responsiveness and updated product data and specifications. The company plans to announce more new Meade products later in 2022.
