I have an old Celestron C90 that has the armored coating, which seems like it would make attaching a solar filter in a positive manner a difficult thing. I'm not partial to filter type, other than the fact that is must attach in a 100% reliable manner.

Hoping to spend about $50.

Edit: ---------------

I've been asked to provide the OD of the tube. I was hesitant to do so in my original post because of the unusual nature of the rubberized C90 tube, and the fact that it is soft & pliable rubber and it tapers at the end of the tube, so a filter that is pressed onto the outside of the tube would be in danger of catastrophically popping off. My intent was the hope of someone being familiar with this telescope and having a solar filter that was custom made for this application.

That being said... the OD of the front edge of the tube is 4.35"
The ID of the front of the tube is 3.65"

Celestron provides a custom end cap and it actually press-fits into the inside of the tube rather than the outside.

I have taken some photos that displays the nature of the issue, and will attach them here.
