***Price drop*** Make me an offer of $80k and it's yours! Low as I will go......Really need to sell due to health. Selling for much less than I paid for everything....

For sale is my Observatory with 8 acres of land in North East Wisconsin in the Town of Athelstane (Marinette County). Also on the land is a 1985 Wick 1000sqft mobile home in very good condition and a 26'Lx36'W garage in excellent condition.
The observatory is an 10'x12' roll off roof style observatory that I built myself in 2008-2009. It includes an Astro-Physics AP1200GTO mount. The pier is 75inch tall and very massive made by Parallax Instruments. It is a custom tapered steel permanent pier mounted to an oversize 28inch(W)x28inch(L)x52inch deep concrete pier footing flared out past the frost line and rebar reinforced (3600+lbs of concrete). The steel pier is filled with sand to completely dampen vibrations and weights about 350-400lbs. I used it mostly for imaging (Pics Shown). I designed it so it will hold up to 16inch SCT's or RC's and 8inch refractors and still fit under the roll off roof. The observatory has 50amp electrical service and 4 Cat5e communication cables run to the house for remote Astro-photography. The pictures below were taken from the comfort of the house 100' away. The observatory is raised up off the ground 20inches and built on a deck so that snow in the winter is not a problem. It has a steel roof so that snow slides off in the winter. The roll off roof is built with the garage door track and wheel method and they are over-sized and spaced out to handle much more then twice the weight of the roof. The observatory has a tan Metal roof, Vinyl siding and a Steel Door with deadbolt. The inside of the observatory is painted charcoal.

The land is perfect for an observatory and one will know why when one sees it. There are trees surrounding all four sides of the land, but a very open part in the middle. The whole sky is unobstructed from the observatory except low to horizon. The area is extremely rural and the town has a restriction that all parcels have to be at least 3 acres. On the west is another 8 acre parcel blocked by trees. On the east is a 60 acre parcel used up to this point only for hunting. The back of the property is heavily wooded as is across the road which is not visible from the house and observatory since the driveway is 500' long. And, there are a lot of trees in-between blocking any lights, which are few to none. This area is also one of the darkest areas left in Wisconsin, which makes it perfect for Astronomy.

The house is a 1985 1000sqft Wick mobile home. It is very comfortable and has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It has a 1000 gallon septic tank that was inspected in 2011 and barely used since. New 8 gallon per minute Sand-point water Well newly installed in 2015 and clean water test passed. The house had a new 50 year rated tan steel roof installed in 2008. It has white vinyl siding in very good condition. It has a basic block foundation crawl space. A land-line phone is installed with DSL Internet available.

The garage is a 26'x36' pole building that was built in 2007. It has a concrete slab foundation and offers plenty of storage. It also has 60amp electrical service with power outlets and ample lighting installed.

I also installed a 4 camera CCTV security system so I could watch over the observatory and property when I was not there. It shows the driveway, house, garage and observatory. This can be viewed over the internet from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.

The reason I am wanting to sell the property, or more honestly, having to sell the property is because in 2013 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the property has become too difficult and expensive to maintain with my physical condition. The property is 200 miles away from where I live in Milwaukee and even the drive up has become too straining and painful. I am really hoping an astronomer may want to buy it and all the hard work I did before I got sick to build the observatory wont go to waste.

I now have a Realtor to help sell the property, but if someone is interested and contacts me first thru this site I will include the Astro-Physics AP1200GTO mount for the $80,000 price. (Telescope is sold) I will still put you in contact with the Realtor for a showing and most other dealings, etc.

Thank You
