This was made from a Thousand Oaks solar filter sheet (8x8 inches) and a Celestron 8" dust cover. I believe the same filter can be used for both, the Celestron C8 SCT & EdgeHD models, but I used it on my NexStar 8SE. It produces a pleasing yellow solar image (see example image of Active Region 2673 from September 7th, which I captured using this filter).

The Thousand Oaks solar filter sheet costs about $20 on Amazon, and the dust cover costs about $15 on Highpoint Scientific's website. Neatly cutting the dust cover cost me nothing, since I had the tools already. So, I spent $35 to make a fantastic solar filter that Celestron and other manufacturers sell for over $50.

Anyway, I am not trying to make a profit out of this. I just don't need it after the eclipse, so I will sell it for $25 + $10 shipping (shipped within CONUS).

It ships in a very nice box that I have been using to store the filter in (see photos).
