This is binoviewer for 2" telescope focuser that accepts 1.25 inch eyepieces.

It is adapted from a B&L microscope binocular head (I recall it being B&L, but I forgot to look for labeling info when I had it open).

The 2" aluminum nose contains a coated achromatic relay lens assembly that inverts the image and relays it down the tube to the eyepieces. As I recall it was made with two binocular objectives about 135mm focal length so the the relay magnification is about unity.

I set it up this way so the image from a Newtonian scope could be relayed through the beam splitter and mirrors of the binoviewer. If you have a scope with long back focus you could remove the relay lenses and long nose piece.

I've added various pictures of the insides of the binoviewer.

The eyepiece sockets are adapted from focusing camera lenses so that both lenses can be individually focused.

The i-phone sample pictures show a view over the back fence using Orion Sirius 25mm Plossl eyepieces with a Celestron 80mmx900mm refractor.
The left image is with an eyepiece only (hence 36X). The center and right images are through the binoviewer sort of shoehorned over the refactor focuser. (I didn't get the right image focused as well as the center one)
