For sale is a 1997 8" f/6 Celestron Starhopper dobsonian. This telescope was sold through Company 7, so it passed their inspection standard which are higher than Celestron's. The optics are in great shape with little to no dust on it. The coatings are in great shape, especially for their age. The picture that looks like it is from the X-Files is a bright light behind the mirror and no obvious coatings issues show themselves. You can pick up some pinpoints visually, but for being over 20 years old they are in great shape. This model has the sliding altitude bearings which make it nice for balancing without weights. It also has a conical primary mirror and it comes with a telrad. Included are the owner manual, Company 7 document, and a collimation cap. The only reason that I am selling it is because a 4" APO OTA became available locally at a price I couldn't pass up. I need funds to buy a mount for the APO and I need to make room to store it. Pick-Up only cash or PayPal.
