This is a 1979 orange Celestron C5 with the Special Coatings. It is ALL original (minus the yellow end dust cap) and will come with the front aluminum dust lid, .965" 90-deg prism diagonal in box, AC Beldon power cable, (3) bolts for the base-to-wedge, (3) bolts for the wedge-to-tripod, original print user's manual (rare), visual back adapter, 5x24 finder, wedge, and the well-loved chrome crutches tripod.

The C5 setup has been in my collection for a few years now and I'm wanting yet another telescope and must make room. The C5 is in very excellent, definitely display-worthy, condition cosmetically. LOVELY paint on the orange and gray accents. The finder is like new as is the little diagonal that has very impressive optics. It is a tension-slit diag, so no worries on your vintage ocular barrels.
The optics in the scope are very excellent on the primary and secondary and great+ to excellent on the corrector. There is a film of dust on the inside of the corrector and though I do have a spanner, I cannot get the front optical locking ring off easily. I myself am afraid to exert heavy force as a C5 in this condition requires caring hands. I just don't want to risk it myself. And at that its optics are perfect, to me, as it sits.

The axis' both lock and manually slew exactly as they should. Clocking in RA is perfect. The wedge is in near mint condition. The tripod is in perfect-working condition and great as far as cosmetics go. If one took the time to remove the extremely tiny superficial rust pits on the chrome surface, these would be in excellent appearance.

Though I do not have the original trunk for this setup, I do have a Seward-brand (yes, they supplied Celestron) trunk in like new condition for a very slight extra cost. I will separate the tripod and the wedge from the C5, but only if the C5 sells first.

Price doesn't include shipping. I will ship to anyone in the world. I am willing to meet 220 miles one way to deliver with a small gas charge in mind. TONS MORE PHOTOS UPON REQUEST.
