This is a large, straight through (inverted image) finderscope made by Russell Optics. They are no longer available new. Mine is several years old and in excellent condition. It affords bright, sharp views just like a 60mm binocular would (indeed, that is what it’s made from). The cross-hair reticle is sharp and easy to see against the sky. It’s also fairly heavy and thus provides some counterbalancing for a heavy mirror on a Newtonian or heavy objective on a refractor. Used with an SCT, the finder’s weight is more forward which helps to negate balance issues. The bracket is a 6 point system using nylon screws. I used it on a 6” Newtonian and 8” and 10” SCT in the past and it worked very well. (The drill holes in the bracket fit those for a finder on Meade and Celestron SCTs.) It really helps finding those dim objects under the urban/suburban light dome. The eyepiece assembly screws off ahead of the big ‘knot’ and it could presumably be converted to an RACI but that would require some machining/modification.
