Rare, no longer made, 32mm Edmund Scientific modified Erfle 2" eyepiece. Barrel has many use marks and isn't in very good cosmetic condition, but the top portion above the barrel is excellent as are the optics and coatings which are mint with no imperfections, blemishes, or other issues. Has gorgeous deep purplish-blue coatings with outstanding transparency. This has been a huge favorite for a long time as it easily outperforms other Erfle eyepieces. It's a redesign of the classic Erfle ocular by Dr. David H. Rank, of RKE fame and has a stated field of view of 68°, but it seems a little larger than that to me when compared with other eyepieces (maybe closer to 72°?) It's much sharper in the center and better corrected across the field of view than other classic eyepieces (Erfle, Kellner, Konig, etc.) and has a bit higher transparency. Extremely comfortable to view with and delivers some of the famous RKE "floating in space" effect that's so highly sought after by observers. There are several different versions of these that look very similar. This is the best version and easily outperforms the others.

I really hate selling this as these are becoming very hard to find (especially with mint optics) and it has been one of my favorite, most used eyepieces for a long time. I recently received some bad news regarding my health and so I am going to start selling some really special items collected over a lifetime to get my equipment down to a minimum. This is one of those really special items and I hope it finds a good home.

For a really good thread about these here on CN:

I am asking $165 (mint versions sell for about $200 and some of the regular Erfle versions go for much less) plus $7.50 for shipping. I accept postal money orders and Paypal, but if paying with Paypal, please add 3%. I can also deliver if within a reasonable distance. Price is negotiable, I wasn't really sure how much to ask for this due to the variations in price based on the different versions so please feel free to make an offer.
