I got a good offer to buy couple of brand new Leica DM 500 microscope's head. I converted them to use in telescope with necessary adapters and 1.25" nosepiece. It works great with binoviewer friendly telescopes (like cassegrain & maksutov). Other telescopes either needs optical glass path extenders (expensive) or barlows (changes magnifications). Thought to keep one for myself and sell the other.

* Comes with integrated 10x Leica microscope eyepieces (25mm equivalent).
* 1.25" nosepiece adapter to put in a binoviewer friendly telescope.
* 1.25" nosepiece can be removed and it got T2 female thread (which can be adjusted using hex screws). This can be used with Baader T2 prism to decrease the glass path.
* Patented design doesnt need diopters. Works perfect.
* High eye relief. I can see entire field upto 15mm - 18mm from the eyepiece.
* Field stop is razer sharp. Excellent contrast without any false colors.
* Uses pretty high quality beam spliter
* Uses mirrors instead of prisms for redirecting the light to eyepieces
* About 22mm aperture to the telescope side.
* The T2 adapter can also be screwed and it exposes a M42 female thread (old Pentax M42 standard). Even though M42 and T2 are 42mm, their thread pitch are different. But this can be used to further decreases the glass path by 5mm to 7mm. But not recommended.
* Integrated HC Plan 10x/18 eyepieces with excellent contrast. Collimation is good when testing. But it can be easily done through tiny 3 screws in the side of those eyepieces.
* Tested using my Celestron C6 on Jupiter and Saturn and excellent. Due to 18mm field stop in 10x eyepiece (25mm), it got limited FOV. But works exceptionally good for planets, double stats.
* The eyepieces can be removed by taking of the collimation screws. May be you can do a project to create a regular eyepiece adapter using Baader clicklock T2 (using 3d printing techniques).
* The alignment is tested and looks good. But if you face trouble merging images with regular binoculars, these binoviewers are not recommended.
