I have only seen one set of these before back at Table Mountain Star Party in the 1990s; the guy was using it on his C90 Astro and was the first time I ever got to look at the Sun with my eyes, yet no solar filter was used.

This is a 1984-86 years Vixen (direct from Vixen) .965-inch Herschel Wedge diagonal with both original Vixen dust caps, the original ziplock bag with Japanese-labeled desiccant, and also the matching .965-inch threaded Moon filter with original box. It is as complete as possible and likely to be one of the only little Herschel wedges you'll ever come across.

Those of you not familiar with the HS; these have a port hole out the back of the diagonal; this is where the heat/ultraviolet light exits BEFORE reaching your eye. The Moon filter is to thread to the bottom of your .965-inch eyepiece of choice and will lessen the image brightness even more; giving the observer an image of the Sun with extremely fine detail in the granules and sunspot depth. It will not show you prominences and flares, but you will see the Sun in much higher detail than you ever could with a projection kit.

It is important to state that if using this setup with the unfamiliar, MAKE SURE no one's face or eyes get near the "heat port" of the diagonal; that is no-no land! Other than that, you're good to go.

Cosmetics are very excellent on the diagonal, the caps are mint, and the wedge glass is very excellent. The Moon filter body has perfect threads, the body is excellent, and the real tint glass is in excellent condition. The bag and box are in great condition.

Use this in your C90, Jason 313, Unitron 128, Towa 339, Meade 300, or Sky Chief; it is QUITE satisfying with orthos and high end kellner!

Price doesn't include shipping. Will ship to anyone on Earth.
