This here is a real lovely oldie and a goody for sure; a 1979 Celestron (Towa of Japan .965" porro prism unit. It will come with its original box, which still has the vintage Celestron decal label and model ink stamp.

Unique is the fact that this unit has the tension-slit design in the eyepiece barrel, NOT a set screw, which we only find on the earliest generations of porro units offered by Celestron. This means no harming your vintage ocular barrels. Just slip it in and out at will.

Beautifully made of brass, milled aluminum, glass, and polyurethane. Dense and heavy to hold too, at 5.7 ounces.

Images are bright and sharp across the plane; no vignetting. Used in a cassegrain or refractor, the "STOP" sign will be seen as "STOP".

Cosmetics are excellent on the brass barrel and virtually mint on the rest of the unit. The prisms are perfectly aligned and in very excellent clean condition with maybe a few individual dust specks, but that's it. No fungus, fogging, chips, or pitting. Absolutely no need to puff air at before use.
The now hard to find box is in very excellent condition for its age and has no rust in the staples. No tape!

Price doesn't include shipping. Will ship to anyone on Earth.
